Meditation on the Holy Angels

"It is not surprising that a saint nicknamed by the Church "the angelic young man" had a special devotion to the Holy Angels. His love for purity alone should have been enough to inspire him with a true tenderness for these pure spirits, free, by the very privilege of their nature, from all carnal defilement. Moreover, he had great confidence in their intercession and rested with faithful abandon on their fraternal protection in all dangers. And certainly, he had more than once the opportunity to thank the Lord for the care that the good Angels had taken of his person. Thus, Father Jerome Piatti did not hesitate to say that God had entrusted him in a very special way to the care of his Angels, charging them, according to the expression of the psalmist, to "protect him in all his ways".
