The churches' message to those struggling with homosexuality can be disconcerting: some insist that the homosexual person repent and renounce all ties to his or her homosexual lifestyle and live a celibate life; others feel that since no one chooses to be homosexual, the only attitude to have is compassionate acceptance.
None of these views take into account all aspects of the problem.
Is there not another solution that would reconcile the traditional position that homosexual acts are sinful with a fundamental reality: the need for each individual to be loved and accepted?
Let us not judge! The author gives a compassionate understanding of the issue as well as practical advice to those who are having a difficult time living their homosexuality and want to be free of it, or to those who accompany or seek to help friends or relatives of homosexuals.
