A better world is possible

 Globalization, corporate mergers, the cult of over-consumption and excessive profit are affecting the whole planet, threatening, if not controlled, to destroy our civilization, just as pollution degrades man and nature. A better world is possible. This book makes a severe but far-sighted judgment on the functioning of our society and makes us aware of the perverse effects of certain phenomena of our time, but also points out the means available to combat them, notably the Gospel and the teaching of the Church. In this sense, it contains a vibrant appeal to Christians and to all men and women of good will, whether at the top or the bottom of the social ladder, to commit themselves courageously, according to their abilities and in tolerance, to an ethical reform of politics, the economy, cooperation with the Third World and human activities in general. Introducing the seed of the Beatitudes and the Commandments of God into the farm, the business, the workshop or the office, as well as into one's private life, taking into account the developments of our times, is a return to the sources, but also a confident look into the future, for the gates of hell will not prevail against the Church of Christ (cf. Mt 16:18).
