This book presents the life, miracles and worship - through the different eras - of Saint Cyriacus, deacon and martyr. Devotion to this great saint spread throughout the world thanks to the inexplicable healings and the liberation of the devil that can be seen in his Sanctuary in Torre Le Nocelle (Italy), where the precious relic of his blood is kept.
In this place, the cult of St. Cyriacus espouses and merges with the charismatic ministry of Father Michele Bianco, the present Rector of the Sanctuary. The numerous testimonies of grace, all historical references and a rich choice of prayers make this book an original and stimulating work to learn how to love and pray this glorious martyr, a powerful intercessor before God.
About the authors:
Patrizia Cattaneo was born in Voghera in 1964. She gave up a career as a manager to dedicate herself to evangelization through the press. She has always had a passion for spiritual research. She has published several books, including the following, translated into French: Les charismes - signature of the Holy Spirit; Saint Cyriaque - au Sanctuaire des prodigies; Choisir la vie - le miracle Audrey Santo; Le diable à genoux and Comment se défendre du diable, de la sorcellerie et couper les liens (The Devil on his Knees and How to Defend Yourself from the Devil, Sorcery and Cutting the Ties).
Mario Iodice, research director, professor and university dean, is a specialist in Indo-European civilizations and Greek and Latin linguistics. Invited to international meetings, he is the author of numerous scientific publications.
Michele Bianco, priest and rector of the Sanctuary of Saint Cyriacus in Torre Le Nocelle, is a specialist in contemporary ethics, with a degree in bioethics from the University of Bari. He is also the author of various philosophical works; in 2004 he published a historical essay on Saint Cyriacus, deacon and martyr, of which he is the emeritus hagiographer.
In the media:
"We know little about him and yet he never ceases to work miracles. St. Cyriacus, deacon and martyr, whose relics are kept at Torre Le Nocelle, in Italy, south of Rome, seems to work above all against the domination of the devil in souls. Rector of the Sanctuary, Father Michele Bianco gives here his experience, illustrated by numerous testimonies of physical and (above all) spiritual healings. Each account confirms the power of intercession of this saint.
This is followed by a historical reminder, written by Patrizia Cattaneo, about the village and the devotion to the saint martyred in Rome, probably at the very beginning of the 4th century. For it is difficult to give an exact biography when the archives hardly exist. But the author still manages to draw a portrait of this saint, explaining the various remaining question marks.
Finally, the third part shows how widespread the cult of the martyr was throughout Europe, before offering a whole range of prayers, "A saint to be (re)discovered."
