Happiness is in your heart

Who in this world doesn't want to be happy? It is the wish, the vocation of every man to find happiness. But what happiness? The happiness that one conceives in one's mind or the happiness that God wants for the man or woman that I am! In fact, man wants to be happy according to his desires, his whims, according to the goods he covets or the projects to be realized or according to the pleasures he seeks, but never according to the profound fulfillment of his being and its perfection in love.

Happiness is not in what I receive from men, in what I possess, in what I selfishly live, in what I idealize, for all this is ephemeral; it is in what I am and what I become over time through the acquisition of wisdom in the fullness of gratuitous love.

Happiness manifests itself when I begin to love God and man not as I want but as I must. I understand then that happiness is in my heart.

Blessed is he who has a mind humble enough to realize it and a heart big enough to live it daily. That being will be happy forever because he will have understood that true happiness comes from God and returns to Him.
