Diary
The diary of Sister Maria Faustyna Kowalska (25.8.1905 - 5.10.1938), that Polish mystic who was canonized by Pope John Paul II on April 30, 2000, and who like a new reflector in the so old church illuminates the divine attribute "mercy" and presents it to the world in a new way, is hereby available in German.
It reveals to us expressively and convincingly the infinity of God's mercy. It not only teaches us about the Most Merciful Redeemer, but also encourages us to worship Him. It practically points to various ways of this veneration and at the same time illustrates facts of divine mediation and the hearing of those who implore him. The diary also possesses the valuable quality of teaching a childlike-simple relationship with God and shows the possibility of living in connection with the ever-present. It shows life in God's presence as a grace that everyone can ask for through humble trust in God.
Nothing is more current in our time, in which misery and sin, war and self-deification, terrorism and abortion, among other things, have gigantic dimensions, than to confront this time, this need, with the infinite mercy of God.
It is - as S. Faustyna himself wrote on a piece of paper on April 3, 1938 - God's will that all this be passed on to souls for their consolation.
May the Diary of S. Faustyna, as the Encyclical Letter Dives in misericordia under No. 2 says, "bring closer to all readers the fatherly merciful love of God and at the same time become a fervent prayer of the Church for mercy".
