My Relationship with the Souls in Purgatory

When we discovered this "Journal" by Maria Anna Lindmayer, we were fascinated by the spiritual experiences of her soul. We realized, almost in a flash, that our time, intellectually impoverished and spiritually cooled, needed to taste this wonderful nourishment.
By a special permission from God, Maria Anna Lindmayer (1657-1726) was in contact with the souls in purgatory. She received many details about the cause, nature, and duration of their suffering, the ugliness of sin, the intensity and duration of its atonement, and finally, how the burning souls in purgatory languish far from this infinitely holy God, the object of all their desires. Maria Anna endured unspeakable sufferings to free them, but she also had revelations and visions about the afterlife that are meant to open our eyes and draw us out of our indifference. No theologian could present the doctrine of the last things, especially purgatory, as clearly and vividly as this spiritual daughter of the great Saint Teresa of Ávila, Doctor of the Church.
In the appendix, we quote the official teaching of the Church. We also provide a selection of prayers, including prayers for the dying.
